Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts ‘09

Posted by adboy on October 21, 2008

Cabela's Dangerous Hunts '09Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts ‘09 . Get into bone chilling, pressure-packed hunting situations as you seek out savage animals in the world’s most dangerous locations. In Cabela’s Dangerous Hunts 2009, you will face raw danger as you encounter the fiercest animals on earth, including lions, grizzly bears, jaguars and more. Accurately modeled Cabela’s equipment in the game means the firearms, tactics and gear are all realistic and precise – but this won’t always help in the face of an unpredictable, open environment packed with avalanches, elephant stampedes, and piranha infested waters. If you do miss a shot and fail to stop a charging man-eating animal, you will be forced to fight it via a melee defense – but pay attention; it’s likely another nearby animal will join the attack.

Monopoly

Posted by adboy on October 20, 2008

MonopolyMonopoly . EA’s Monopoly game – part of a multi-game partnership with Hasbro – will feature a special fast-paced family mode full of mini-games when it comes out later this year on PC (Pogo.com), PS2, Wii and Xbox 360.

According to Newsweek, “The Richest” will reduce the popular board game to bursts of 20-30 minutes where up to four players play at once. Sorry, enhance! Enhance the popular board game. Probably.

Each round will begin with a multiplayer mini-game based on a Chance or Community Chest card, after which the game will roll one die for each player, with the winner of the mini-game getting to pick whichever number they want out of the results.

The game will then give them ownership of that number of random squares. Any vacant properties will come under their control, but any occupied squares will mean having to hand over some property as a payment to the previous owner. Presumably the winner will be the person who has the most property at the end.

Mini-games detailed so far include one about breaking out of prison, and another where you race around train tracks trying not to overshoot the stations, as Newsweek puts it, and there will be unlockable themed boards for dedicated players.

Hopefully you will also get to play the original Monopoly! Although you could always go round your Nan’s to do that instead. Or play Halo.

Wii Music

Posted by adboy on October 14, 2008

Wii MusicWii Music . When it comes to music and rhythm games, Wii Music stands in a class of its own. Unlike other music games, which penalize players if they don’t play perfectly, Wii Music is a musical playground where there are no mistakes. Here anyone can pick up and master the huge array of instruments available, through simple motions like strumming and drumming. Musicians in your band jam by simply playing their instruments to the beat of a song or by improvising to their heart’s content. Play faster. Play slower. Skip a beat, or throw in 10 more. No matter what you do, Wii Music automatically transforms your improv stylings into great music.

In Wii Music every band has six members: Two play the main melody, two cover the percussion beats, one covers the bass groove and one uses the song’s chords to support the melody. As a band, the six members often play their special parts at the same time, though each player can jam however and whenever he or she wants. Play all at once. Take turns in the spotlight. Pair up in creative ways throughout the song. You can bring the band to life by yourself, playing one part at a time-or with up to four players. See game mode below:

* Solo Play: When you play by yourself, you can add one part at a time to arrange the whole song exactly how you want. The Tutes are on hand to back up your band in any parts you need filled.
* Multiplayer: When in a band with friends, up to four people can be band members.
* Wii Friends: Using WiiConnect24, you can send your jam videos to Wii Friends who own Wii Music. They can then watch your performance, modify it to their liking and send their jam videos back to you.
